Top Newcomers Carly Reising M/F 10 Season Outlook I am looking forward to a great season. Some of our strengths this year will be our senior leadership supplemented by outstanding play from our younger players. Our top goal scorer is back and our defense, which played well last year returns intact. We need to make sure that we do not rest on last year’s success, but come out with a fire and desire to win. If we are able to come together and play on a high level, we will have a very successful season. We have a strong core of returning players and some new additions that will make us a stronger team. I am looking for great production out of our two senior forwards Loni Neil and Brenna Schurkamp. We have a great group of seniors who will provide good leadership for our younger players. Last year’s Record 13-7-1 overall (4-3 conference tied for 3rd), District champions Coaches Record 0-0 This is my first year as a head coach. I have been assistant coach for the Otsego women’s soccer team for three of the last four years. I was also an assistant coach for the women’s soccer team at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. I played for four years at Martin Luther College and was all conference goalkeeper my senior year. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ South Haven Head Coach: Benno Trenkle (3rd Year with Girls) Assistant Varsity & Head JV Coach: Charlie Hamlin (3rd year with Girls) Assistant Coaches: Carlos Aguayo, Adam Layendecker Goalie Coach: Steve Missman Roster Jane Barden 10 F/G Veniace Cunningham 12 D Carol Decastro 12 F Erica DeGrandchamp 11 M/F Chelsea Fitzgibbon 9 M/F Season Gilliam 10 D/M Amy Goril 11 D Celeste Gruber 12 M Janelle Kasper 12 M/D Barb Lane 11 F/M Niki Miksa 12 M Marisa Mikusko 10 M/D Liz Missman 10 M Rachelle Newberry 10 D Brittany Norman 9 D Stacia Simonsen 11 G Katy Urbanski 12 M Sam Wade 11 F/M Mallory Wessels 10 F/G Jasmine Wickham 11 D 2005: Overall Record 9-8-1 Wolverine Conference Record 4-3 3rd Place Won first ever District game Lost in Dbl OT in District Semi Final Team Strengths: Very deep, Quick, Aggressive, Tremendous Attitudes Weaknesses: Inexperience, Very young team Key returning players Seniors, Celeste Gruber,Janelle Kasper Juniors, Sam Wade, Barb Lane, Jasmine Wickham, Stacia Simonsen, Erica DeGrandchamp Sophomores, Jane Barden, Marisa Mikusko, Liz Missman Toughest opponents: Plainwell, Vicksburg, Kalamazoo Hackett, Kalamazoo Christain, St.Joe
We are hoping to place high in the Wolverine Conference and look forward to a good run in Div 3 post-season Tournament.
This team will improve as the season progresses and gains experience playing together. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Comstock Colleen Grueter 3rd year as Varsity Coach Overall Record (19-14-2) Record 2005 (9-6-2), 5th place in conference (3-4) Key Returning Players: Jessica Rateike (Defense) First Team All-Conference, Tiffany Basore (Defense), Ashley Powell (Defense), Kelsey Mackenzie (Midfield) Allison Dyer (Midfield), Britni Buiwit (Midfield) Season Outlook This will be an interesting season for Comstock Soccer. We are very young this year, but we are led by returning first team all conference defender Jessica Rateike. Also leading the way is defender Tiffany Basore, midfielders Allison Dyer and Kelsey Mackenzie. I also expect great things out of junior goalie Britney Glover. Quotes: “I am looking forward to seeing the growth of our team, which should be positive with the leadership of Jessica Rateike, Tiffany Basore, Britney Glover and Allison Dyer.” “On the defensive side senior Jessica Rateike and junior Tiffany Basore will be detrimental to our success this season. On the offensive side I expect great things out of Allison Dyer and Kelsey Mackenzie.” “Our junior goalie Britney Glover has put a lot of time and work in and I expect to really watch her grow as a player this season.” ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Plainwell Head Coach: Chad Wiseman (3rd Year) Last Year Record: 15-Wins, 3-Loses, 3-Ties Conference Record: 7-Wins, 0-Loses Conference Place: Champions Career Record: 32-Wins, 6-Loses, 5-Ties Returning Starters: Sophie Hartman, Rachel Day, Stephanie Lyons, Kristyn Blahnik, Lisa Multer, Erin Cool, Morgan Pomeroy, Stephanie Phillips, Erica Mead
Season Outlook: The talent is there to have a special year. Leadership will play an immense factor on how well the team does. Winning the Wolverine Conference is always one of our goals and we should have a good chance to do so. I think all the girls are excited about playing in Division 2; the level of competition will be much stronger. Finding players to step into the center mid positions is the huge question mark going into the season.

Season Outlook: Finished with a positive goal differential last season for the
first time. We fully expect to score more goals this season than last and
improve upon that positive goal differential, especially within Wolverine
Conference, in order to pull out some of the close loses we went through last
season.
Quote: "We lost quite a few close games last season (especially in conference).
With an improved offense and steady/consistent defense; we look forward to the
challenge of competing in the tough Wolverine Conference and putting some of
those tough loses in the win column this season."
