State Cup is the tournament that allows you to play at least 3 games

where your team actually fits in. This is the only tournament that
the teams from the Detroit area actually take seriously. There are
no guest players allowed. It allows you to see other the teams in
your area that take the game seriously.
In the 13's, 28 teams were accepted, 6 were from the West side and 2 advanced.
In the 14's, 28 teams were accepted, 6 were from the West side and 1 advanced.
In the 15's, 28 teams were accepted, 7 were from the West side and 2 advanced.

19 teams from the West side of the State entered State Cup and only 5
advanced to the quarterfinals. This is not as good as it should be.
A look at the results indicate that placement of West side teams together
in Pool play immediately limits the potential advancement of West side
teams.

Many good teams did not advance. Some because of a bad bounce.
Some because of a bad draw which means simply that another Pool in the
same age group was significantly weaker. Some because they had one bad game and
couldn't afford to. It is all a great experience. More teams
should enter this yearly tournament and stretch their wings a little.
Great job.
